Hi Jeremy

Below is what I get from behind my company's firewall.

BTW, how can I find out from this which ports are open?

Kind regards,

Hugo

Well, FastTest checks 21, 22, 23, 70, and 443. None of these are open in your case. You can search for an open port by opening a command prompt and typing "telnet imap.proxy.fastmail.fm 7". The "7" is the port number to test. If the port is open, you'll get an IMAP banner.

Hi Jeremy,

Here is the result of running the latest version of FastTest from my machine at work.

I'm still having some trouble getting FastCheck to work, i've posted this output in a thread in the FastCheck forum, but I thought I'd put it here as well for consistency.

Thanks

Since you have full connectivity, why not just add a DNS server to your PC configuration? That way you'll be able to resolve domain names too. Smile

Unfortunately I dont have administrator priveledges on this machine.
So i cant change anything to any great extent.

Also, not having much experience in mucking around with networking stuff, im not sure I know entirely what to do.

I'm guessing that under Win2K I would go into my network connections settings, click on my LAN connection, go to properties -> tcp/ip -> advanced -> DNS -> Add, and then put in my machines IP address for the DNS server ?

First step is to coerce the network admin into giving me administrator priveledges... (sound of devious plotting) Smile

Thanks for the help anyway Jeremy.
